Collagen is the main structural protein of the dermis and is responsible for its cohesion and firmness. Skin elasticity and the volume of wrinkles around the eyes were measured at the beginning of the study, after 4 and 8 weeks of supplementation, and again 4 weeks after supplementation had ended. After just 4 weeks, a statistically significant improvement in skin elasticity was observed compared with the placebo group (p<0.05), and the effect was maintained both after 8 weeks and following the end of supplementation [3]. Improvements were observed in participants of both Asian and European origin.

WRINKLE REDUCTION

The same study also recorded a statistically significant reduction in the volume of wrinkles around the eyes – after 8 weeks of supplementation, the reduction was 15% compared with the baseline value, and the effect was also confirmed after the supplementation period had ended [3].
