A holiday in a glass

This is a drink that tastes like a holiday in a glass. Every sip is cooling, light and pleasantly fruity, without the heaviness typical of classic milkshakes. The combination of three fruits gives it a distinct depth of flavour, and the addition of ice further emphasises its freshness.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of chopped watermelon (seedless)
  • 1/2 cup of fresh pineapple
  • 1/2 cup of mango
  • 1 scoop of Whey Isolate Watermelon
  • 2 tablespoons of skyr
  • a few ice cubes
  • a pinch of lime juice (optional)
  • a dash of honey or agave syrup (optional)

Preparation

Dice the watermelon and remove the seeds. Peel the mango and pineapple and cut them into smaller pieces. Place all the fruit in a blender, add the skyr and ice cubes. Then add a scoop of protein powder and blend until smooth and uniform. Finally, add lime juice and – if you like – a little honey or agave syrup to adjust the sweetness. Serve immediately after preparation, preferably well chilled.

Why make it?

Because it’s a quick way to prepare something that’s both refreshing and satisfying. The large amount of fruit makes the smoothie naturally sweet and juicy, without the need for excessive sweetening. The addition of skyr adds a light creaminess and makes the texture more satisfying than in typical fruit drinks. It’s a good option for those moments when you don’t fancy heavy food but still want something substantial.
